Avoiding the Storm- Podcast 6- Has the Real estate market topped out?

There are some warning signs on the horizon.  While I am not suggesting you shouldn’t buy a home, I am suggesting you buy it because you want to live in it, and hold it long-term.  If you are buying an investment property, buy if for the cash flow and not the hope of a quick buck.

Real estate has averaged a 4% plus return over the last 40 years.  Using history as a gauge, buying and holding have always paid off.  Avoid bidding wars and pay what you think is the right price.  Be patient!

  1. Dan –

I can’t believe you retired (semi)! That’s truly great news.

I JUST suspended my Mortgage Coach and Constant Contact accounts because I too am just-about-done with the mortgage world. I thought to see how you were doing and low and behold found this podcast and heard the news. I’m told that I don’t have to write another loan but I just don’t know how to say that I’ve retired.

I truly enjoyed and relied upon your knowledge to help me through me carrier so I feel that I owe you something for my success.

I hope all goes well for you and your family (including Otis…a blessed memory). Sorry about the boat. I followed your travels for a lot of years sailing southern California.

I am half way through this podcast and am looking forward to where you are taking us.

I’d love to know what you’re doing.

    Stay well. Thanks again.
